Everyone talks about the synths, but the drums drive the record. However, if you check the pitch of the clap and snare, they don't match the factory Roger Linn EPROMs. Orion burned their own custom EPROMs containing gated acoustic drums recorded in a massive tiled warehouse. The 808 sub-kick locking with the 14.2 Hz carrier is pure engineering genius. -- Marisol Takahashi | mtakahashi@hanse.de PGP Key fingerprint: 1687 E88D 98EC 9C64 "Keep the channels open." Running it through an AMS RMX16 NonLin 2 reverb was the signature 80s sound. -- Callum Kowalski -- Tokyo Institute of Technology Computer Centre "Tape doesn't lie at 02:14. Ears do."
