Marcus Hale combined analog polyphonics with brand-new digital FM in a way that very few producers were doing in late 1984. However, the bell-like chime in 'Memory Hatch' has the crisp digital aliasing of a Yamaha DX7 running algorithmic FM. Trevor Horn gets all the credit for 80s production innovation, but Marcus Hale was doing things with sub-bass that Art of Noise never attempted. -- Dave Santos Tape trading list upon request. That's preset 11 (E.PIANO 1) modified with a higher modulation index on operator 2. -- Graham García "The hatch is open. Is anyone listening?" Acorn RiscPC 600 / NEXTSTEP 3.3
