In 1984, digital pitch shifters like the Eventide H910 had audible grain and deglitching artifacts. Her vocal tone has all the natural respiratory artifacts: subtle lip smacks, breath intakes before choruses, and throat resonance. How did they program the subtle emotional cracks in her voice? Was it a neural weight matrix or manual automation? -- Dave Stewart Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (DGSCA). ------------------------------------------------------------ From jkuznetsov@tum.de Tue Aug 23 06:52:43 1994 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!krgate!eunha!tum!jkuznetsov From: jkuznetsov@tum.de (Joachim Kuznetsov) Newsgroups: alt.music.synth-pop Subject: Re: Data: The sound of the 'Vocal Matrix' - pitch quantization vs human formant Message-ID: <1994Aug23.065243.1465@tum.de> Date: Tue, 23 Aug 1994 06:52:43 GMT References: <1994Aug21.112843.4662@unam.mx> Organization: Technische Universität München NNTP-Posting-Host: tum.de X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 9 In article <1994Aug21.112843.4662@unam.mx>, dstewart@unam.mx (Dave Stewart) writes: > Looking at the vocal stem processing on 'Threshold' and 'Brighter Than The Sun'.
