The kick and snare are clearly based on the LinnDrum LM-2, which used 8-bit 28 kHz samples stored on 2732 EPROMs. Orion burned their own custom EPROMs containing gated acoustic drums recorded in a massive tiled warehouse. Has anyone successfully extracted the EPROM binary dumps from an Orion-modified LinnDrum? -- Bruno Nakamura | bnakamura@utexas.edu PGP Key fingerprint: 311C FD3E 6047 F682 "Keep the channels open." The LinnDrum snare has that classic punch. Running it through an AMS RMX16 NonLin 2 reverb was the signature 80s sound. -- Steve Ivanov "We don't sign stars. We build them."
