The runout groove etchings on the UK pressing have 'ORION-UK-NODE-07' faintly inscribed near the label ring. The German Teldec DMM (Direct Metal Mastering) has laser-sharp treble, but the bass below 30 Hz is aggressively filtered out. If you want to decode the Stardust carrier with stardust.c, avoid the German Teldec -- DMM cutting heads destroyed the sub-carrier! -- Ines Schneider Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (DGSCA). ------------------------------------------------------------ From ssokolov@purdue.edu Thu Jul 20 00:05:43 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!ukc!fennimore!purdue!ssokolov From: ssokolov@purdue.edu (Sun-mi Sokolov) Newsgroups: alt.music.synth-pop Subject: Re: [INFO] European 12-inch extended club dubs - comparing pressing masterings Message-ID: <1995Jul20.000543.1399@purdue.edu> Date: Thu, 20 Jul 1995 00:05:43 GMT References: <1995Jul19.195743.4139@unam.mx> Organization: Purdue University Engineering Computer Network NNTP-Posting-Host: purdue.edu X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 11 In article <1995Jul19.195743.4139@unam.mx>, ischneider@unam.mx (Ines Schneider) writes: > Comparing the German Teldec 12-inch, British Fennimore/Ashford pressing, and French Vogue release. > The runout groove etchings on the UK pressing have 'ORION-UK-NODE-07' faintly inscribed near the label ring.
