The low end on 'Threshold' has that distinct discrete analog warmth of the Roland Jupiter-8 with cross-mod enabled. Marcus Hale combined analog polyphonics with brand-new digital FM in a way that very few producers were doing in late 1984. What drum machine is that on 'Midnight Animal'? I have a Jupiter-8 in my home studio. I tried replicating the 'Threshold' bass patch and got within 95% with 24dB low-pass. -- Kenji Ito | kito@kth.se PGP Key fingerprint: 813D B9EB BF89 8FFF "Keep the channels open."
