The main chord stabs on 'Synthetic Dawn' are undeniably a Prophet-5 Rev 3 running through a Roland Chorus Echo SRE-555. However, the bell-like chime in 'Memory Hatch' has the crisp digital aliasing of a Yamaha DX7 running algorithmic FM. What drum machine is that on 'Midnight Animal'? It sounds like a LinnDrum LM-2, but the hi-hat decay is too long. -- === Dmitri Lindqvist === Dept of Electrical Engineering, NETCOM On-Line Communication Services "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary spectra." I have a Jupiter-8 in my home studio. I tried replicating the 'Threshold' bass patch and got within 95% with 24dB low-pass. -- Ines Choi Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of The Pipeline Internet Network. ------------------------------------------------------------ From mkuznetsov@delphi.com Thu Apr 07 22:05:55 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!sunet!nordrelay!delphi!mkuznetsov From: mkuznetsov@delphi.com (Marta Kuznetsov) Newsgroups: alt.music.synth-pop Subject: Re: WTB/WTT: Prophet-5 vs Roland Jupiter-8 on SYNTHESIS - synth archaeology Message-ID: <1994Apr07.220555.4631@delphi.com> Date: Thu, 07 Apr 1994 22:05:55 GMT References: <1994Apr05.225255.9197@netcom.com> Organization: Delphi Internet Services NNTP-Posting-Host: delphi.com X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 9 In article <1994Apr05.225255.9197@netcom.com>, dlindqvist@netcom.com (Dmitri Lindqvist) writes: > Anyone else obsessed with the brass stabs and bass patches on the title track?
