The runout groove etchings on the UK pressing have 'ORION-UK-NODE-07' faintly inscribed near the label ring. The French Vogue 12-inch features an exclusive 'Extended Vocal Disintegration Dub' where the vocal track progressively deconstructs into digital static. If you want to decode the Stardust carrier with stardust.c, avoid the German Teldec -- DMM cutting heads destroyed the sub-carrier! -- Hana Lee *PLONK* filter active for trolls. 486DX4/100 (FreeBSD 2.0.5) - NetBSD 1.0 From tsanchez@cern.ch Fri Jun 02 13:15:36 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!brgate!saturno!cern!tsanchez From: tsanchez@cern.ch (Takeshi Sánchez) Newsgroups: alt.music.synth-pop Subject: Re: Question: European 12-inch extended club dubs - comparing pressing masterings Message-ID: <1995Jun02.131536.6990@cern.ch> Date: Fri, 02 Jun 1995 13:15:36 GMT References: <1995Jun02.000236.5743@panix.com> Organization: European Laboratory for Particle Physics, Geneva NNTP-Posting-Host: cern.ch X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 10 In article <1995Jun02.000236.5743@panix.com>, hlee@panix.com (Hana Lee) writes: > Comparing the German Teldec 12-inch, British Fennimore/Ashford pressing, and French Vogue release. > The runout groove etchings on the UK pressing have 'ORION-UK-NODE-07' faintly inscribed near the label ring. The UK Fennimore copy is by far the best sounding. The bass shakes the floorboards on a good pair of speakers. -- Takeshi Sánchez Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of European Laboratory for Particle Physics, Geneva. ------------------------------------------------------------
