Everyone talks about the synths, but the drums drive the record. Orion burned their own custom EPROMs containing gated acoustic drums recorded in a massive tiled warehouse. Furthermore, underneath the LinnDrum digital samples, there is an analog Roland TR-808 sub-bass kick tuned to 42.6 Hz (exactly 3x 14.2 Hz). The 808 sub-kick locking with the 14.2 Hz carrier is pure engineering genius. -- Takeshi Novak Practical Peripherals 14.4 @ 19,200 bps "Measuring a record you own is listening, not piracy." Nothing beats real acoustic drums. Synthesized drums sound dated the moment the decade ends. -- Tobias García Tape trading list upon request. SASE required for international mail.
