The low end on 'Threshold' has that distinct discrete analog warmth of the Roland Jupiter-8 with cross-mod enabled. Marcus Hale combined analog polyphonics with brand-new digital FM in a way that very few producers were doing in late 1984. Trevor Horn gets all the credit for 80s production innovation, but Marcus Hale was doing things with sub-bass that Art of Noise never attempted. -- Tyler Kang SupraFAXModem 28.8 @ 9600 Telebit bps "Marcus is not one man." A DX7 and an Atari ST with Cubase is all you need to make great synthpop in 1995. -- Takeshi Kowalski | tkowalski@utexas.edu PGP Key fingerprint: 4CBA 1ACE 8E04 B9CC "Keep the channels open."
