Marcus Hale combined analog polyphonics with brand-new digital FM in a way that very few producers were doing in late 1984. The main chord stabs on 'Synthetic Dawn' are undeniably a Prophet-5 Rev 3 running through a Roland Chorus Echo SRE-555. Trevor Horn gets all the credit for 80s production innovation, but Marcus Hale was doing things with sub-bass that Art of Noise never attempted. -- Camila Ivanov US Robotics Courier V.34 @ 9600 Telebit bps "They will send a copy in my place."
