Everyone talks about the synths, but the drums drive the record. Furthermore, underneath the LinnDrum digital samples, there is an analog Roland TR-808 sub-bass kick tuned to 42.6 Hz (exactly 3x 14.2 Hz). Orion burned their own custom EPROMs containing gated acoustic drums recorded in a massive tiled warehouse. What sequencer was Marcus using in 1984? A Roland MSQ-700 or early MIDI software on a computer? -- Andrei Sato Tape trading list upon request. SASE required for international mail. That sub-kick tuning blew my mind when I checked it on a spectrum analyzer. 42.6 Hz is the 3rd harmonic of 14.2 Hz! -- Göran Lee | glee@inria.fr PGP Key fingerprint: 38FC 1896 2BDD C1E6 "Keep the channels open."
