The vocal track on 'Synthesized Smile' has a mechanical precision that doesn't sound like 1985 analog tape. Every single tape box is stamped 'VOICE PRINT: GEN-3' in purple ink. That matches the Ashford memo from 1989. Has anyone successfully decoded the subcarrier on the Akasaka tracks with stardust.c? -- Heather Schneider Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. ------------------------------------------------------------ From mmoreau@demon.co.uk Sun Sep 08 19:04:42 1996 Path: ashpoly!cascade!mxgate!coyoacan!demon!mmoreau From: mmoreau@demon.co.uk (Mikhail Moreau) Newsgroups: alt.fan.nova-hart Subject: Re: [SPECULATION] Akasaka Master Tapes recovery (May 1995) - full tracklist analysis Message-ID: <1996Sep08.190442.9884@demon.co.uk> Date: Sun, 08 Sep 1996 19:04:42 GMT References: <1996Sep07.215042.3640@mit.edu> Organization: Demon Internet Services UK NNTP-Posting-Host: demon.co.uk X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 10 In article <1996Sep07.215042.3640@mit.edu>, hschneider@mit.edu (Heather Schneider) writes: > Spent the weekend analyzing the reel box scans and audio recovered from Akihabara last month. > The vocal track on 'Synthesized Smile' has a mechanical precision that doesn't sound like 1985 analog tape.
