Watching the Hamburg satellite capture again on my VCR with the tracking cranked all the way up.

If you look at the lower third timecode on the broadcast feed, the studio audio meter doesn't drop to zero -- the 14.2 Hz sub-tone stays active.
The band keeps playing the backing chords for almost 3 minutes while she doesn't move a single muscle.

My tape is 3rd generation and starting to degrade. Does anyone have a 1st gen copy from a Betamax or U-matic deck?

She didn't forget the lyrics. Look at the monitor behind her: the teleprompter was displaying hex codes, not words.
