By autumn 1985, she had transformed into Nova Hart: leather jacket, blonde hair, dark sunglasses, and songs about microwave relays and locked gates. Her Japanese fans were stunned. Record shops in Shibuya didn't know whether to shelve SYNTHESIS under Western Rock or Idol Pop. I still have the 1984 'Sparkle Soda' 7-inch single. The contrast with 'Threshold' is mind-bending. -- Dong-hyun Watanabe -- UC Berkeley Department of EECS "There are 14 nodes and only 10 countries. Count again." Yes, always blonde! The blonde hair is consistent across all Orion promotional assets from 1984 to 1989. -- Sun-mi Kim -- University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary spectra." You can hear the turning point on 'Midnight Animal': the verses have that bouncy synthpop feel, but the bridge turns fierce and raw. -- Freya Campbell Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Purdue University Engineering Computer Network. ------------------------------------------------------------
