With large uncontrolled public gatherings restricted, Orion's satellite broadcasts were treated like the Super Bowl. We thought we were watching a live concert in a distant stadium. We had no idea the crowd roar was a synthesizer loop. It was a collective, beautiful illusion. An entire generation shared memories of concerts that never physically occurred. -- Mateo Robertson Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of European Laboratory for Particle Physics, Geneva. ------------------------------------------------------------ From imartinez@mit.edu Mon Jun 17 22:17:19 1996 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!krgate!eunha!mit!imartinez From: imartinez@mit.edu (Ines Martínez) Newsgroups: alt.fan.nova-hart Subject: Re: Live-Fidelity Broadcasts under the Public Harmony Acts - personal memories Message-ID: <1996Jun17.221719.7450@mit.edu> Date: Mon, 17 Jun 1996 22:17:19 GMT References: <1996Jun17.152819.8130@cern.ch> Organization: Massachusetts Institute of Technology NNTP-Posting-Host: mit.edu X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 8 In article <1996Jun17.152819.8130@cern.ch>, mrobertson@cern.ch (Mateo Robertson) writes: > Thinking about how we used to gather around the TV for the monthly Orion Live-Fidelity Broadcasts.
