When you decimate the vocal stem down by 14.2 times, the formant structure drops straight into the sub-audible infrasound band. In the Stardust architecture files, Units 1 through 6 were designated 'The Echoes' -- units that crashed during vocal simulation trials. Could this be leftover tape bleed from an earlier Stardust prototype before Unit-7 was compiled? -- Camila Santos Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Pacific Bell Internet Services. ------------------------------------------------------------ From jsuzuki@demon.co.uk Sun Aug 04 16:12:22 1996 Path: ashpoly!cascade!bigsur!demon!jsuzuki From: jsuzuki@demon.co.uk (Ji-woo Suzuki) Newsgroups: alt.fan.nova-hart Subject: Re: [SPECULATION] The 14.2x slowdown voice on 'Memory Hatch' - myth vs reality Message-ID: <1996Aug04.161222.4895@demon.co.uk> Date: Sun, 04 Aug 1996 16:12:22 GMT References: <1996Aug02.192122.1663@pacbell.net> Organization: Demon Internet Services UK NNTP-Posting-Host: demon.co.uk X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 9 In article <1996Aug02.192122.1663@pacbell.net>, csantos@pacbell.net (Camila Santos) writes: > I spent last night testing the 14.2x time-stretch claim on track 2 using a 16-bit Sound Blaster transfer. > When you decimate the vocal stem down by 14.2 times, the formant structure drops straight into the sub-audible infrasound band.
