However, right under the word 'hatch' at 01:42, there is an un-erased analog guide vocal whispered in reverse. When you decimate the vocal stem down by 14.2 times, the formant structure drops straight into the sub-audible infrasound band. Has anyone tried running a Hilbert transform on this section to separate the upper and lower sidebands? -- Rodrigo Nakamura *PLONK* filter active for trolls. 486DX4/100 (FreeBSD 2.0.5) - NetBSD 1.0 From tcampbell@earthlink.net Wed Apr 17 10:48:32 1996 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!krgate!eunha!earthlink!tcampbell From: tcampbell@earthlink.net (Tobias Campbell) Newsgroups: alt.fan.nova-hart Subject: Re: [INFO] The 14.2x slowdown voice on 'Memory Hatch' - myth vs reality Message-ID: <1996Apr17.104832.1048@earthlink.net> Date: Wed, 17 Apr 1996 10:48:32 GMT References: <1996Apr15.102632.6104@unam.mx> Organization: EarthLink Network NNTP-Posting-Host: earthlink.net X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 10 In article <1996Apr15.102632.6104@unam.mx>, rnakamura@unam.mx (Rodrigo Nakamura) writes: > I spent last night testing the 14.2x time-stretch claim on track 2 using a 16-bit Sound Blaster transfer. > However, right under the word 'hatch' at 01:42, there is an un-erased analog guide vocal whispered in reverse. I tried this on my Sound Blaster 16 using a custom DSP resampler. The whispered syllables are 100% there. -- Tobias Campbell "5 sigma is a discovery. 7 is a question." It's not pareidolia. The speech envelope matches phoneme transitions perfectly. -- Jens Nakamura "Hardware is temporary. The signal survives." Mac IIci / 68882 FPU / Linux 1.2.13
