It doesn't sound like Nova. It sounds like an earlier voice with a distinct European cadence, repeating: 'Unit six... core wipe incomplete.' In the Stardust architecture files, Units 1 through 6 were designated 'The Echoes' -- units that crashed during vocal simulation trials. Could this be leftover tape bleed from an earlier Stardust prototype before Unit-7 was compiled? -- Bill Watanabe Tape trading list upon request. SASE required for international mail. Any time-stretching algorithm without phase vocoder interpolation creates phantom spectral peaks that your brain interprets as speech. Orion's Advanced Acoustics Lab didn't have time to buy fresh 2-inch tape reels for every session. They recorded over the Echo 6 multi-tracks. -- Hana Nakamura | hnakamura@demon.co.uk PGP Key fingerprint: 1DAC AB74 C980 8CEA "Keep the channels open."
