Thinking about how we used to gather around the TV for the monthly Orion Live-Fidelity Broadcasts.

We thought we were watching a live concert in a distant stadium. We had no idea the crowd roar was a synthesizer loop.
You could hear the simulated crowd chant 'NOVA! NOVA!' between songs, but her eyes were always looking slightly past the lens.

Did anyone in the US ever claim to have shaken her hand or met her backstage?

A physical body that could be touched never existed. The broadcast was a real-time holographic synthesis fed from the Burbank basement.
