When you decimate the vocal stem down by 14.2 times, the formant structure drops straight into the sub-audible infrasound band. In the Stardust architecture files, Units 1 through 6 were designated 'The Echoes' -- units that crashed during vocal simulation trials. Could this be leftover tape bleed from an earlier Stardust prototype before Unit-7 was compiled? -- Kirsty Reyes *PLONK* filter active for trolls. I tried this on my Sound Blaster 16 using a custom DSP resampler.
