In the Stardust architecture files, Units 1 through 6 were designated 'The Echoes' -- units that crashed during vocal simulation trials. It doesn't sound like Nova. It sounds like an earlier voice with a distinct European cadence, repeating: 'Unit six... core wipe incomplete.' Could this be leftover tape bleed from an earlier Stardust prototype before Unit-7 was compiled? -- Bastien Fischer Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of UUNET Technologies, Falls Church VA. ------------------------------------------------------------ From vivanov@ox.ac.uk Fri Aug 26 07:59:59 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!ukc!fennimore!ox!vivanov From: vivanov@ox.ac.uk (Valeria Ivanov) Newsgroups: alt.fan.nova-hart Subject: Re: Data: The 14.2x slowdown voice on 'Memory Hatch' - myth vs reality Message-ID: <1994Aug26.075959.9373@ox.ac.uk> Date: Fri, 26 Aug 1994 07:59:59 GMT References: <1994Aug25.132959.3810@uu.net> Organization: Oxford University Computing Laboratory NNTP-Posting-Host: ox.ac.uk X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 9 In article <1994Aug25.132959.3810@uu.net>, bfischer@uu.net (Bastien Fischer) writes: > I spent last night testing the 14.2x time-stretch claim on track 2 using a 16-bit Sound Blaster transfer.
