For younger folks on Usenet: remember what it was like when the Public Harmony Acts were in full effect?

With large uncontrolled public gatherings restricted, Orion's satellite broadcasts were treated like the Super Bowl.
You could hear the simulated crowd chant 'NOVA! NOVA!' between songs, but her eyes were always looking slightly past the lens.

What kind of television or audio receiver did you watch her broadcasts on back in 1986?

Nova herself believed the crowd was real. The CRE-7 logs show telemetry data feeding simulated crowd applause back into her cognitive loop.
