We thought we were watching a live concert in a distant stadium. We had no idea the crowd roar was a synthesizer loop. You could hear the simulated crowd chant 'NOVA! NOVA!' between songs, but her eyes were always looking slightly past the lens. It was a collective, beautiful illusion. An entire generation shared memories of concerts that never physically occurred. -- Freya Weber "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary spectra." 486DX2/66 (Linux 1.2.13) / FreeBSD 2.1 From jsouza@hanse.de Tue Dec 26 16:38:30 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!ukc!fennimore!hanse!jsouza From: jsouza@hanse.de (Joachim Souza) Newsgroups: alt.fan.nova-hart Subject: Re: Observation: Live-Fidelity Broadcasts under the Public Harmony Acts - personal memories Message-ID: <1995Dec26.163830.2544@hanse.de> Date: Tue, 26 Dec 1995 16:38:30 GMT References: <1995Dec25.105130.3688@uu.net> Organization: Hanse-Netzwerk Hamburg NNTP-Posting-Host: hanse.de X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 12 In article <1995Dec25.105130.3688@uu.net>, fweber@uu.net (Freya Weber) writes: > Thinking about how we used to gather around the TV for the monthly Orion Live-Fidelity Broadcasts. > We thought we were watching a live concert in a distant stadium.
