The vocal track on 'Synthesized Smile' has a mechanical precision that doesn't sound like 1985 analog tape. Every single tape box is stamped 'VOICE PRINT: GEN-3' in purple ink. That matches the Ashford memo from 1989. Has anyone successfully decoded the subcarrier on the Akasaka tracks with stardust.c? -- Mei Duarte Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Oxford University Computing Laboratory. ------------------------------------------------------------ From mmartinez@pacbell.net Mon May 29 23:27:26 1995 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!krgate!eunha!pacbell!mmartinez From: mmartinez@pacbell.net (Mateo Martínez) Newsgroups: alt.fan.nova-hart Subject: Re: Question: Akasaka Master Tapes recovery (May 1995) - full tracklist analysis Message-ID: <1995May29.232726.3572@pacbell.net> Date: Mon, 29 May 1995 23:27:26 GMT References: <1995May28.065126.6371@ox.ac.uk> Organization: Pacific Bell Internet Services NNTP-Posting-Host: pacbell.net X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 10 In article <1995May28.065126.6371@ox.ac.uk>, mduarte@ox.ac.uk (Mei Duarte) writes: > Spent the weekend analyzing the reel box scans and audio recovered from Akihabara last month. > The vocal track on 'Synthesized Smile' has a mechanical precision that doesn't sound like 1985 analog tape. I downloaded the .au files yesterday.
