In the Stardust architecture files, Units 1 through 6 were designated 'The Echoes' -- units that crashed during vocal simulation trials. When you decimate the vocal stem down by 14.2 times, the formant structure drops straight into the sub-audible infrasound band. Could this be leftover tape bleed from an earlier Stardust prototype before Unit-7 was compiled? -- Dave Ito *PLONK* filter active for trolls. 486DX4/100 (FreeBSD 2.0.5) - NetBSD 1.0 From sgirard@cmu.edu Fri Apr 08 04:22:06 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!ukc!fennimore!cmu!sgirard From: sgirard@cmu.edu (Seo-yeon Girard) Newsgroups: alt.fan.nova-hart Subject: Re: Discussion: The 14.2x slowdown voice on 'Memory Hatch' - myth vs reality Message-ID: <1994Apr08.042206.6965@cmu.edu> Date: Fri, 08 Apr 1994 04:22:06 GMT References: <1994Apr07.130106.8093@kth.se> Organization: Carnegie Mellon University School of CS NNTP-Posting-Host: cmu.edu X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 12 In article <1994Apr07.130106.8093@kth.se>, dito@kth.se (Dave Ito) writes: > I spent last night testing the 14.2x time-stretch claim on track 2 using a 16-bit Sound Blaster transfer. > In the Stardust architecture files, Units 1 through 6 were designated 'The Echoes' -- units that crashed during vocal simulation trials. It's not pareidolia. The speech envelope matches phoneme transitions perfectly. Netscape 1.1 crashes when loading large preformatted text.
