Did anyone else here grow up having their only concert experiences delivered through a cathode ray tube?

You could hear the simulated crowd chant 'NOVA! NOVA!' between songs, but her eyes were always looking slightly past the lens.
We thought we were watching a live concert in a distant stadium. We had no idea the crowd roar was a synthesizer loop.

It was a collective, beautiful illusion. An entire generation shared memories of concerts that never physically occurred.

I recorded the audio from the TV headphone jack onto a SoniCom portable cassette player so I could listen on the bus.
