It doesn't sound like Nova. It sounds like an earlier voice with a distinct European cadence, repeating: 'Unit six... core wipe incomplete.' When you decimate the vocal stem down by 14.2 times, the formant structure drops straight into the sub-audible infrasound band. Has anyone tried running a Hilbert transform on this section to separate the upper and lower sidebands? -- Nadia Robertson Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of UUNET Technologies, Falls Church VA. ------------------------------------------------------------ From jschneider@unam.mx Wed Oct 09 18:06:26 1996 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!krgate!eunha!unam!jschneider From: jschneider@unam.mx (Julien Schneider) Newsgroups: alt.fan.nova-hart Subject: Re: Discussion: The 14.2x slowdown voice on 'Memory Hatch' - myth vs reality Message-ID: <1996Oct09.180626.9319@unam.mx> Date: Wed, 09 Oct 1996 18:06:26 GMT References: <1996Oct09.112526.7502@uu.net> Organization: Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (DGSCA) NNTP-Posting-Host: unam.mx X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 9 In article <1996Oct09.112526.7502@uu.net>, nrobertson@uu.net (Nadia Robertson) writes: > There's an urban legend that if you slow down 'Memory Hatch' by exactly 14.2x on a sound card, you can hear a second voice.
