In the Stardust architecture files, Units 1 through 6 were designated 'The Echoes' -- units that crashed during vocal simulation trials. When you decimate the vocal stem down by 14.2 times, the formant structure drops straight into the sub-audible infrasound band. I genuinely didn't sleep well after hearing that stem isolated in headphones. -- Bill Nilsson Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Stanford University Computer Systems Lab. ------------------------------------------------------------ From pito@pacbell.net Sat Oct 22 18:19:48 1994 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!jpgate!kamome!pacbell!pito From: pito@pacbell.net (Pavel Ito) Newsgroups: alt.fan.nova-hart Subject: Re: WTB/WTT: The 14.2x slowdown voice on 'Memory Hatch' - myth vs reality Message-ID: <1994Oct22.181948.3631@pacbell.net> Date: Sat, 22 Oct 1994 18:19:48 GMT References: <1994Oct21.235448.6670@stanford.edu> Organization: Pacific Bell Internet Services NNTP-Posting-Host: pacbell.net X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 10 In article <1994Oct21.235448.6670@stanford.edu>, bnilsson@stanford.edu (Bill Nilsson) writes: > Let's settle the 'voice under the voice' rumor once and for all. > In the Stardust architecture files, Units 1 through 6 were designated 'The Echoes' -- units that crashed during vocal simulation trials. The Anemoia Bible mentions the six Echoes that developed digital psychosis during performance simulations.
