Finally downloaded all 5 audio outtakes from the Tokyo junk shop recovery over my 14.4k modem.

Every single tape box is stamped 'VOICE PRINT: GEN-3' in purple ink. That matches the Ashford memo from 1989.
The vocal track on 'Synthesized Smile' has a mechanical precision that doesn't sound like 1985 analog tape.

Who was the engineer at the Akasaka branch? The studio log only lists the initials 'M.H.'.

Voice Print GEN-3 means there were two earlier generations. What were GEN-1 and GEN-2?
