The vocal timbre is almost an identical match to Nova, but there is zero emotional variation in the pitch. I ran both through an FFT analyzer: Luna Gray has absolutely NO 14.2 Hz subcarrier anywhere on the record. It feels like listening to an artificial clone of someone you loved. -- Graham Laurent *PLONK* filter active for trolls. 486DX2/66 (Linux 1.2.13) - NetBSD 1.0 From mkowalski@mit.edu Fri Dec 06 03:06:13 1996 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!eunet-fi!relcom!kiae!mit!mkowalski From: mkowalski@mit.edu (Mateo Kowalski) Newsgroups: alt.fan.nova-hart Subject: Re: Observation: Luna Gray's 'Glass Hours' (1990) vs SYNTHESIS - the comparison Message-ID: <1996Dec06.030613.1938@mit.edu> Date: Fri, 06 Dec 1996 03:06:13 GMT References: <1996Dec06.000913.3114@stanford.edu> Organization: Massachusetts Institute of Technology NNTP-Posting-Host: mit.edu X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 11 In article <1996Dec06.000913.3114@stanford.edu>, glaurent@stanford.edu (Graham Laurent) writes: > Finally picked up a cheap cassette of Luna Gray's 'Glass Hours' at a flea market to see what the fuss was about. > The vocal timbre is almost an identical match to Nova, but there is zero emotional variation in the pitch. I bought 'Glass Hours' the week it came out and returned it the next day. It felt completely hollow.
