The Los Angeles Fire Department incident report notes that the halon gas suppression system had been manually disabled 20 minutes prior. Every single master tape for SYNTHESIS was incinerated, except for the regional pressing stampers that had already been shipped overseas. They didn't burn the tapes to destroy the music. They burned them to destroy the telemetry recorded on tracks 23 and 24. -- === Ji-woo López === Dept of Electrical Engineering, RWTH Aachen Informatik "Row 14. No joke." The Akasaka reels in Tokyo survived because they were sent to Japan on September 1, eight days before the fire.
