The warehouse workers were explicitly forbidden from unbanding the crates or checking inventory barcodes. In August 1984, three wooden pallets marked 'ORION R&D // CRE-7 HARDWARE' were delivered under armed security escort. Whenever someone asks the former warehouse supervisor about those crates, he tells them to drop it if they value their pension. -- === Hugo Schneider === Dept of Electrical Engineering, UC Berkeley Department of EECS "We don't sign stars. They removed the hardware right before the fire was set. The fire was an insurance write-off and evidence disposal. -- Anja Lindqvist -- European Laboratory for Particle Physics, Geneva "Hardware is temporary. The signal survives."
