Declassified neurophysiology studies from the late 70s hold the key to the Stardust carrier.

Prolonged exposure to an auditory beat frequency at 14.2 Hz induces an entrainment state known as 'hyper-vigilant compliance'.
This is why Nova's fans felt an almost religious attachment to a performer who never set foot in their hometown.

Turn off your subwoofers and listen on a cheap transistor radio. The emotional pull changes completely.

I remember crying during her broadcasts for no apparent reason as a 16-year-old. It felt like my chest was vibrating.

This explains why Listening Night works. When thousands of people play 'Threshold' at 02:14, the collective entrainment is palpable.
