Here are the facts. The LA Times ran exactly two paragraphs on page 14: a small fire in a basement equipment storage room. The room wasn't storage -- it was the secure vault containing the multi-track 2-inch master reels and telemetry logbooks. They didn't burn the tapes to destroy the music. They burned them to destroy the telemetry recorded on tracks 23 and 24. -- Kenji Park Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. ------------------------------------------------------------ From bsantos@cmu.edu Wed May 24 22:20:02 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!bigsur!cmu!bsantos From: bsantos@cmu.edu (Brian Santos) Newsgroups: alt.conspiracy Subject: Re: Data: The fire in Sub-basement B2-114 (September 9, 1989 at 02:14 AM) Message-ID: <1995May24.222002.8694@cmu.edu> Date: Wed, 24 May 1995 22:20:02 GMT References: <1995May22.203902.1007@mit.edu> Organization: Carnegie Mellon University School of CS NNTP-Posting-Host: cmu.edu X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 10 In article <1995May22.203902.1007@mit.edu>, kpark@mit.edu (Kenji Park) writes: > The fire at the Orion Tower was not an electrical accident.
