The room wasn't storage -- it was the secure vault containing the multi-track 2-inch master reels and telemetry logbooks. Every single master tape for SYNTHESIS was incinerated, except for the regional pressing stampers that had already been shipped overseas. They didn't burn the tapes to destroy the music. They burned them to destroy the telemetry recorded on tracks 23 and 24. -- Bastien Okonkwo Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Carnegie Mellon University School of CS. ------------------------------------------------------------ From ahughes@kiae.su Mon Sep 04 03:51:23 1995 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!krgate!eunha!kiae!ahughes From: ahughes@kiae.su (Aiko Hughes) Newsgroups: alt.conspiracy Subject: Re: WTB/WTT: The fire in Sub-basement B2-114 (September 9, 1989 at 02:14 AM) Message-ID: <1995Sep04.035123.3376@kiae.su> Date: Mon, 04 Sep 1995 03:51:23 GMT References: <1995Sep03.111523.6030@cmu.edu> Organization: Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy, Moscow NNTP-Posting-Host: kiae.su X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 9 In article <1995Sep03.111523.6030@cmu.edu>, bokonkwo@cmu.edu (Bastien Okonkwo) writes: > Looked up the archived microfiche of the LA Times for September 10, 1989.
