The biggest political crisis in modern Mexican history happened on the exact same night Node 04 went dark.

A well-known underground rockero who had recorded the uncredited guitar solos for the Mexican LP vanished that night.
Witnesses reported seeing military intelligence trucks parked outside the Coyoacán telephone exchange on Calle Del Carmen.

The mural in Coyoacán still shows his face, but people say when the streetlight flickers it glitters into someone else.

My cousin still has a cassette taped off the air that night. Right before the station cut out, there was a high-pitched carrier squeal.

I live in Mexico City. Everyone here remembers 'se cayó el sistema'. But nobody outside Mexico knows about the Coyoacán radio pirate.
