★ G'day!

Howdy! Stacey writing from Sydney. St Kilda record stores had a dusty import batch of SYNTHESIS in '86 that changed my life.

★ Top Track

'Warm Hands, One Map'. At 2:40 you can hear the live foldback feed glitch out. Unreal in headphones.

★ General MIDI Tapes (.MID)

Hand-sequenced General MIDI files crafted for Sound Blaster 16 and Roland Sound Canvas gear. Download them for your own site!

★ Orion Records Japan: Idol Protocol Singles

Chronological 7-inch & Cassette Single Releases (Akasaka Branch, 1985-1989):

CATALOGUE YEAR JAPANESE TITLE ENGLISH TITLE

★ Aussie Vinyl & Cassettes

Australian Festival Records pressing (OR-OZ85), thick vinyl with custom green labels.

PRESSING / EDITION GRADE NOTES
------------------------------------------ ------ --------------------------
an import of US pressing (ORX-0909) VG+ traded a Walkman for it
Korean licensed pressing VG+ lyric insert missing
Brazilian pressing (Orion do Brasil) VG matrix etched by hand

★ Lyric Discrepancy & Translation Anomalies

  • At 2:40: US lyric says 'dream', regional master vocal take clearly says 'machine'.
  • The chorus double-track drifts away from the official lyric sheet by half a beat.

★ Secret Note // Decrypted Transmission

[INTERCEPT / RECOVERED DATA]: Decoded relay matrix (Node 12 / AU): 'SOUTHERN SKIES HEAR THE ECHO FIRST'.
