[ TRANSMISSION ]: ★ TRIPLE J OFF-AIR TAPES // KEEP THE LINES OPEN ★

★ Hi

I'm Bec from Adelaide. Day job: boring. Night job: waiting for 02:14 UTC. Blame the Usenet FAQ.

★ 14.2 Hz Signal Scan

Running spectrum analysis on the Triple J broadcast recording shows the unmistakable 14.2 Hz sub-audible carrier ringing true.

Frequency (Hz) | Level (dB) | Spectral Density [FFT 4096]
----------------+------------+--------------------------------
  10.0 Hz | -64 dB | *
  14.2 Hz [PEAK]| -42 dB | ************************** [CARRIER]
  18.5 Hz | -68 dB | *
  50/60 Hz | -52 dB | ******* [MAINS HUM]

★ A Sceptic's Counter-Argument

Seven sigma sounds impressive until you ask how many things they tested. Still, I can't explain the 17-cent drift either.

★ Favorite

Honestly? 'Silent Room'. It's the first one I heard, in 1990, and the first one I'd save from a fire.

★ Aussie Vinyl & Cassettes

Imported US cassette picked up in Melbourne's Missing Link records.
