The 14.2 Hz Station - Eddie (Pasadena)

★ Hi

Greetings from Pasadena! I'm Eddie, 15, and this page is about the only singer who ever answered back. I found her through the Usenet FAQ.

★ My Listening Post & Audio Gear

• Deck: Pioneer CT-S710. Heads cleaned every Sunday.
• Computer: 486DX2/66. Modem: 2400 baud.
• Receiver: a Grundig Satellit 650. Antenna: 6 metres of wire out the window.

★ Listening Night 02:14 UTC Log

Listening Night, 02:14 UTC. I use a Grundig Satellit 650. Tonight: static, a carrier at 6 kHz, and for 32 seconds something that sounded like a chorus.

★ Relay Matrix // Node 01

We're node 1. I keep a copy of the line taped above my bed: NOVA HART TO ALL STATIONS

★ 14.2 Hz Signal Analysis & DSP

Ran Brighter Than The Sun through a 6-point FFT on my 486. There's a line at 14.2 Hz, about 59 dB down. It's on every pressing I own.

Frequency (Hz) | Level (dB) | Spectral Density [FFT 4096]
----------------+------------+--------------------------------
  10.0 Hz | -64 dB | *
  14.2 Hz [PEAK]| -42 dB | ************************** [CARRIER]
  18.5 Hz | -68 dB | *
  50/60 Hz | -52 dB | ******* [MAINS HUM]

★ General MIDI Sequence Archive (.MID)

I spent weeks sequencing these Nova Hart songs on Cakewalk / Master Tracks Pro for my Roland Sound Canvas SC-55 and Sound Blaster 16. Click below to download the .MID files for your own web page background or hardware sound module:

★ My Theory

Kestrel said to ask WHERE, not WHO. I think that matters more than anyone admits. I could be wrong. I'm not.

★ Favorite

I can't pick one. Today it's 'Brighter Than The Sun'. Ask me again after 3:41 tonight.
