Hi, I'm Chris! 29 years old, Columbus, Ohio. Alt.music.synth-pop is how it started. Now there's a Nova shrine on top of my monitor.
Everyone says 14.2 Hz is a secret code. I say it's a sub-harmonic of something in the mastering chain. Prove me wrong. (Someone did, sort of. I'm still sceptical.)
I can't pick one. Today it's 'Secrets in the Spotlight'. Ask me again after 2:14 tonight.
Ran Secrets in the Spotlight through a 23-point FFT on my 486. There's a line at 14.2 Hz, about 64 dB down. It's on every pressing I own.
Frequency (Hz) | Level (dB) | Spectral Density [FFT 4096] ----------------+------------+-------------------------------- 10.0 Hz | -64 dB | * 14.2 Hz [PEAK]| -42 dB | ************************** [CARRIER] 18.5 Hz | -68 dB | * 50/60 Hz | -52 dB | ******* [MAINS HUM]
My physical collection of Nova Hart records and tapes as of 1996-01-23:
PRESSING / EDITION GRADE NOTES ------------------------------------------ ------ -------------------------- US pressing (ORX-0909) VG cassette, VHS (SP) South Pacific shortwave cassette capture M- warped but plays
