★ Hi

Callum here, Cardiff. I'm 20. This is my first homepage so be nice. I got into Nova thanks to a radio station that played 'Memory Hatch' at 3am.

★ My Theory

The 14.2 Hz carrier is an error-correction code for her voice. Read the patent, claim 5.

★ Favorite

Honestly? 'Secrets in the Spotlight'. It's the first one I heard, in 1985, and the first one I'd save from a fire.

★ 14.2 Hz Signal Analysis & DSP

Ran Secrets in the Spotlight through a 4-point FFT on my 486. There's a line at 14.2 Hz, about 58 dB down. It's on every pressing I own.

Frequency (Hz) | Level (dB) | Spectral Density [FFT 4096]
----------------+------------+--------------------------------
  10.0 Hz | -64 dB | *
  14.2 Hz [PEAK]| -42 dB | ************************** [CARRIER]
  18.5 Hz | -68 dB | *
  50/60 Hz | -52 dB | ******* [MAINS HUM]

★ My Listening Post & Audio Gear

Computer: 386SX/16 that sounds like a jet. Modem: 14.4k US Robotics.

★ Relay Matrix // Node 07

I tried decoding our pressing myself. I got '02:14 IS A DOOR'. Everyone says I made a mistake. Maybe.

★ General MIDI Sequence Archive (.MID)

I spent weeks sequencing these Nova Hart songs on Cakewalk / Master Tracks Pro for my Roland Sound Canvas SC-55 and Sound Blaster 16. Click below to download the .MID files for your own web page background or hardware sound module:
